About Fairfield

Here at Fairfield, we provide day school education for an average of 250 boys and girls aged 4+ to 7 years.  Attached to the main school is a nursery unit offering high quality Early Years education for up to 52 children below the age of 5. The current school roll is 51 children in nursery, and 266 in the main school (correct as of October 2014).

There has been a school on this site since 1879.  We are very proud of our beautiful Victorian buildings and recent £500,000 extension providing a new school entrance, offices and a magnificent hall.  Outdoor facilities include a playing field, adventure playground, wild life area and a “Millennium” garden together with spacious hard play areas.

At Fairfield, we have built up a reputation for providing a friendly atmosphere and caring attitude.  We challenge pupils with a broad and creative curriculum planned to meet the appropriate statutory requirements.

The education of your child is a responsibility we are privileged to share with you as parents.  We actively encourage parents to be our partners in children’s learning.  Teachers are happy to discuss with you any matter concerning your child.  There are many opportunities for parents to help in school on a voluntary basis and we have a lively voluntary support association, the Friends of Fairfield, which organises social and fundraising events throughout the year.

Fairfield is one of a group of school in Felixstowe collectively known as the Felixstowe Academy Pyramid.  At the beginning of the autumn term after their 7th birthday, most pupils transfer to Colneis Junior School.  At the age of 11, they move again, this time to Felixstowe Academy.
