We have been fortunate enough to be able to arrange a visit to the highly interactive Ancient Egyptian Gallery at Ipswich Museum on the 18th & 21st November 2014 for classes 5A, 5L & 5B. Due to limitations on the number of children that can be accommodated at the museum we will be taking half of the year group on one day and half on the other. 5A and half of 5B will visit the museum on 18th November, with 5L and the remainder of 5B visiting on 21st November. We will confirm the names of the children from 5B attending on each day closer to the date.
The visit will support all the learning we are doing this term on the Ancient Egyptians. The children will have the opportunity to create a living timeline, become an archaeologist for the day, handle real Ancient Egyptian artefacts and make a clay shabti. The trip will leave school around 09:15am and return by around 3:00pm.
The cost of the trip will include a small fee to cover the different activities and coach travel. We will be asking for a voluntary contribution of £6.50 to cover these costs. You will be able to give parental permission for your child to attend and pay for the visit on Parentmail from 16th October 2014.
We may have room for a couple of parent helpers to join us on the trip so if you are in a position to help, please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible.
Further details will be discussed with your child closer to the time and shared with you.
As always thank you for your support in these matters.
